Orangutans Protest Expanded Palm Oil Trade Under TPP at March for a Clean Energy Revolution
On Sunday, July 24th, GJAE activists joined the Stop TPP Contingent of the March for a Clean Energy Revolution as Orangutans Against TPP and Palm Oil in Philadelphia, one day before the start of the Democratic National Convention. The GJAE orangutans highlighted how TPP will expand Malaysia and Peru's palm oil trade, contributing to an industry that destroys forests and wildlife, exacerbates climate change, and uses forced labor. The orangutans resurfaced three days later at the We Are Seeds rally vs. TPP and GMOs, where two GJApEs took to the stage to explain the TPP/palm oil connection.
